Hi,Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community. I will certainly help you with this.
I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance. Is this folder creating any issue?. What is the location of this folder?. Are you able to hide this folder?. What are the contents of this folder? Please post back with the information asked, we will be glad to assist you further.Thank you.Im sorry to have to say this, but if you dont know what this folder is or what it's for, you shouldn't be answering any questions on this forum. You may be the admin but are you signed in as the admin?
Esd Folder Windows 10
I've never had that problem but it seems that some people have two accounts on the same machine and that the OS recommends this so that you use your computer daily as a regular user and only sign inas an admin to make changes. Perhaps type ' sign in as admin' in the search bar and see what comes up.Going back to the original problem as to whether you can delete these files or not, I did some further checking after reading this thread. There are apparently a lot of useless or redundant files that you can use to get back space on your machine. You have to use a tool called disk cleanup to do it safely without deleting flies that the OS does need.
- The next screen will ask you if you want to use a USB flash drive (i.e. Create a Windows 10 bootable USB flash drive) or download the Windows 10 installation ISO file to your computer. Select the second option ('ISO file'), click Next and browse for the location that you want the ISO to be downloaded to: Step 5: Wait for the Download to Finish.
- I have a hidden folder on my C: drive called $Windows.WS that's 3 GB large after my Windows 10 upgrade. Disk clean and CCleaner even with system files removal didn.
The fastest way to find this built in toolis to search for ' disk cleanup' in the search bar in the bottom left corner.Once you are running disk cleanup it's self evident what you are doing. I have a Surface Pro 3 and I got back about 35GB of space this morning by using it. That's on a 128GB machine, so it's significant how much space you can gain by dumping the redundantupdate files, the old OS (you won't easily be able to revert back to Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 if you do everything I did) and the Windows 10 install files. I also emptied the recycle bin using disk cleanup but you might want to do that manually in case youaccidentally deleted something you might want to restore. Just uncheck that box and run the cleanup and then open your recycle bin later to have a look if you are not sure.
